 Robert,
Sorry, I don't have any backtesting abilities.
I remember nibor100 and Dylan (and maybe a few others) might be able to backtest.

 Robert,

I remember there were a few member (in earlier years and recent yeas)
who wrote posts and/or filters about getting in ahead of breakouts.

Maybe you can spend some time searching the sF archives
and also appeal to other members in case
anybody has something or remembers something.

I'm pretty sure this is something that many people have been looking for.

Your approach seems to have a little bit of back fitting flair to it.
So, I wonder if Tom DeMark 9 & 13 Sequential Long approaches might have some value to you?

Tom DeMark is quite well known in some quarters.

 @kossvet,

Before I do any backtesting on Cheese's implementation of your posted filter(s) I need to understand some things I'm confused about after re-reading your entire thread:

 1. Sector(medical) seems to be a limiting criteria now, but back in May you said you had removed that criteria after I questioned about 1 of your posted picks not being in the medical sector. Is it officially back as part of your filter?

 2. Every line of Xarlor's original filter is gone...yet for quite a while your posted picks were from his filter with the volume modifications you had made to it.

How long have you been using this newest version?

 Thanks,
 Ed S.

 Hi Ed

I've been using the new filter for about a month.
I felt more comfortable trading this newer filter.
But, it is basically Xalors filter with a twist.
It gets you in before the rush.
I removed the medical sector on occasion to get more plays.
I am presently refining this newer filter still.
And early signs are very promising.
I'll post it now, and have some of the gurus improve it.

 draw cema(low,2) 4 week low
 draw cema(low,2) 3 week low
 draw cema(low,2) 2 week low
 draw cema(low,2) 1 week low
and price is between .50 and 10
and cema(low,2) 4 week low is equal to cema(low,2) 3 week low
and cema(low,2) 4 week low has been increasing for the last 1 week 1 week ago
and cema(low,2) 3 week low is equal to cema(low,2) 2 week low

Still trying to refine it further.

 Good Luck
 Robert

 Hi Robert,

Thank you for sharing your newest filter.
 Very interesting.

Yes, you said this filter is early, before the rush and shows 1,2,3,4 week low

But =lease help me understand it a little more.

Let's take the three cases of ASG, NNBR, STKL
At what point did your first pay attention to them?
After 2 or 3 days or 1 or 2 weeks of their ascent?

 Thank you

 Cheese
 use date offset is 2
Any candidate that is ascending is worth a small play.
The stocks that are stagnant, I have been watching.
I'm still working on refining the filter.
What I have witnessed so far is promising.

 Cheese
I probably would put a small bet on ASG, , STKL
nnbr I would stay away from.
I'm currently long 1000 shares of opgn that I got from this filter.
This is my first foray into this filter.
TLSA seems like a great play.
I'm gonna buy a thousand tomorrow morning

 Robert,

Very interesting filters. Thank you for sharing them. I'd been wondering how you found things that were range bound. Best of luck to you.
