Graftonian,
Why would you add the 21 day and 5 day slope to determine "steepness?" Since the 5 day slope is part of the 21 day slope, I'm unclear on how steep has meaning. Can you advise?

graftonian, I like the IFT one you created. It's pretty cool. can you create one for short selling or buying put options? so one that would have stocks just starting to plummet.

C1916: I think of slope as the rate a variable moving. Sampling a shorter term slope at the end would indicate an acceleration ( or deceleration) of that rate. IMHO
pthomas215: I know nothing of options, give me the option of walking to work or taking a lunch, and I'm lost. There are many others in SF that are much better at coding than I. If you'd like, I could post the filter (Lets call it "Lucky 13) in filter exchange, in a new thread, and ask for help to modify it.

ha that would be great. I think we should be focusing now on shorting, since we are leaving the discretionary cycle in the economy and entering more conservative staples and utilities area.

One of the teachers of the EMA(13) stated that when the Dow is in downtrend such as the EMA(13) going down with the price more or less riding below it. One should be more cautious with their Bullish stock picks and more on the shorting side of stocks.

Look at SYN a pick I made a few days ago. My bad in picking as the ema(13) was sideway point to the sideways on the computer screen. No trend . The trend wasn't pointing to the top right of my computer screen for Bullish trend or bottom right right for Bearish trend.

As with EVEP the price made the EMA(13) hook up to start a upward trend and thus profits.

A simple screen with no indicators or oscillator can tell a lot of things sometimes.

you make great points mac. the ema 13 trend is very important, and I would say the same thing about rsi and ma 50. have to be trending in the direction of your trade. That said, I am going to go with the shillis plan with regards to the overall economy. Im going to wait for tvix to bottom out and I am going to quadddrupple down on it long. when tvix bottoms out, I am going to exclusively short equities.

shillis plan is good. TVIX is riding the ema(13) down.
