Is anyone here trading an AMZN-specific system, with well defined entry and exit criteria and a decent backtest result?
It looks like the answer is NO. Here is what I will do - right after posting I will open up Stratasearch, import AMZN price data, and run a simple OneClick setup on data from the last 4 years or so. I'll post the result here later today. You can see the results and note how quickly I completed this - then consider using better tools and strategies going forward.
Please - no flaming here. I am trying to help and will share the results with everyone. Hoping it will help you make money, not mistakes.

On thing that is really ticking me off is, and NEWBIES should be aware of this, indicators reset themselves. They retrace, with price.
So, let's say your indicators (and there are many) indicate a bottom on July 24th. Those indicators can reset and go lower 2 days later -- lower than the previous low. Next thing you know, the stock is re-correcting and your long position is SOL.
I believe this is why JP has mentioned numerous times that you can't just count on indicators.
HOW MANY TIMES has CMG hit a low (or bottom), and then another low and another ... or TSLA.
