Hi, I've subscribed for several months now to SF, but just now realized there's a forum! (a little slow sometimes).
Anyway, like probably a number of folks, I love stocks that make significant percentage moves (biotech, semiconductors, for eg) but that also seem to move fairly smoothly along, versus stocks that erratically go up and down from day to day on their overall paths up or down.
An example of a stock I like the movement of is AMD over the last two months. Whether it went short or long, it made what I'd consider strong moves, yet did so somewhat uniformly.
Is there some kind of filter(s) that can handle both of these types of criteria?
Thanks very much

here's a link to the chart, by the way, courtesy of stockcharts. From about mid-April to current, it seems to be trending relatively "cleanly."

This will give you uptrending stocks based on linear regression and the ema(13) x ema(26) crossover.
Use the ema(5) to gauge exit and reentry (CxE5 column)
Sorted descending on volume percentage change. Most action at the top!
MAY ALL YOUR FILLS BE COMPLETE.

thanks very much. That's a lot of criteria, so I really appreciate it even more.
Something I probably should have clarified better is that I'm looking for a filter that seems to trade well with the 10dma, basically staying fairly steadily above it in uptrends and vice-versa. Understood there will be a certain degree of variability, with the price moving further away and closer to it at times.
The more strongly trending, as a whole, the better. [of course, the markets haven't exactly been doing that particularly well the past months it seems]
Thanks again, and I'll look more closely at some of the parameters you've been good enough to place down, seeing what can be most applicable.

I just noticed your comments at bottom. Much obliged, and I've re-set my settings for the EMA's you've talked about. I've been using the 10d, 50d, and 200d MA's, so that's how I had my settings.
Still most comfortable with those as a result, but I'll check this out.
Thanks again
PS should add that I'm fine with whether the stock is going up or down.

I have "silver" prophet.net subscription, may be I'm too stupid but I was unable to find any possibility to filter stocks on prophet.net with RSI(2) indicator :(

Prohet is NOT for filtering stocks. It is just for displaying stocks with certain indicators of your choice. Filtering is done here with a SF filter. Once you filterd your stocks here, you can go to PROPHET and look at them with any indicator you choose.

with a combo of different things I've read on this board and from support help, I'm gradually building a kind of screening criteria that's really helpful for me. Thanks to all who contribute on the forums.
