9/25/2003 5:06:03 PM IMO the SEC is either incompetent or as corrupt as any of them. These fines that have been handed down to some of these corporations are little more than a slap on the wrist as the crimes have been highly profitable and the fines just the cost of doing business. The illogical and arbitrary Rule 2520 has kept me from trading all week with the exception of closing MNG this morning. I ran through my list of some 60 filters or so and the Holy Grail filter seems to really shine in this kind of market environment. The vast majority of yesterdays returns moved higher this morning. |

9/25/2003 6:08:04 PM EWZuber: Money brings out the "true" nature of people... For the record, HolyGrail and I have NEVER posted the actual HOLYGRAIL FILTER. We have posted our Linear Regression and RSI(2) filters and derivations. Someone one "tagged" the filters that HG and I posted with that name. But those filters ARE NOT the HOLYGRAIL FILTER. That filter is a trade secret (no pun intended). Funny thing is the DOW bounced off the lower LR and the Nasdaq bounced off the 26ema on the daily chart today. Yes, HG and I "saw" it coming... it's all on the chart. RSI(2) is hard to beat as a stock SELECTOR when you trade with real dollars instead of monopoly money. Now it's time to go BOTTOM FISHING because of the Wal-Mart pricing on Wall Street... FALLING PRICES EVERYWHERE! MAY YOUR FILLS BE COMPLETE. |

9/25/2003 7:24:45 PM HOLYGRAIL's filter is simply: rsi(2) below 1 and close above 0.09 and Average Volume(10) is above 500000 and 30 day slope of the lri(60) is above 0.25 and low near Bottom linear Regression Line(60) We buy stocks that have bottomed and are ready to bounce. It is that simple. The RSI(2) x RSI(3) is just a wrinkle for safer entries for the less experienced traders. And all the other indicators are just tweaks... But I have shown you the fundamental filter. Forget about backtesting. Just look at a chart of a stock and see what happens when RSI(2) < 1% and/or the price is at the Lower Linear Regression line. Backtesting, at this time, does not take in consideration that I may have SOLD BEFORE the price dropped later in the day. Just check the charts from the filter. Here are the chart settings we use: Draw Linear Regression Channel(60) and Draw EMA(6) and Draw EMA(13) and Draw EMA(26) and Draw RSI(2) and Draw RSI(3) I also use a 90 day chart at www.prophet.net. HOLYGRAIL and I also use esignal for daytrading. Once again, HOLYGRAIL's method is simple and most don't believe or accept. All we use is RSI(10) and Linear regression. That's it. Now... you have to remember YOUR objectives may not be the same as ours. My objective is to compound my portfolio by 2% or more per day. I DO NOT look at the dollars, I look at the percent gains. HOLYGRAIL has a tendency to make friends/enemies whenever he posts. But I know this... he told me to buy chtr, sons, rbak, and dyn last October and to trade them daily. Look at the results. Stockfetcher has reduced our scanning time from hours to seconds. I hope this helps. I have given you EVERYTHING. There is nothing more. It really IS that simple. For the record this is NOT HOLYGRAIL.. this is his trading buddy. ------------------------------ Maybe there's three of them. ha! ha! |

9/25/2003 7:51:11 PM Quote: holygrail 9/21/2003 2:19:25 AM the other filters i had do not work anymore because sf changed info that they were calculated by and even all the back test are not the same as my original formulas- sorry but here is one i came up with today that should be very profitable and cheaper makes you more money --on this filter you can adjust the price amount and the volume amount to your liking filter---- show stocks where volume decreasing over last 3 days and close decreasing over last three days this should make you more than any filter you have ever had on here and it gets better the longer you have the stocks another thing you can add to this or any filter you have which enables you to always have the most profitable and best stock moving up is as follows-- ---set{ae20,atr(20)/ ema(20)} and show stocks where volume decreasing over last 3 days and close decreasing over last 3 days and add column ae20 and draw ae20 ----what this gives you the daily percent movement a stock has had over the last 20 days- the higher this percent the more money you make -- here is this filter in --Performance results for your filter covering the dates: Friday August 29, 2003 to Friday September 19, 2003 -------------------------- OK, Holygrail says the old HG filter doesn't work anymore, so here's the new one! |

9/25/2003 8:05:42 PM This is wrong: it should be: And it is NOT called the HOLY GRAIL FILTER.. It is the LR/RSI filter! I should know, I WROTE IT. HG taught me about lr/rsi. I am the programmer. Usually we run the LR and RSI(2) as separate filters and just look at the charts and/or use the MATCH LIST. MAY ALL YOUR FILLS BE COMPLETE. |

9/25/2003 8:22:56 PM TXTRAPPER: Do as you wish. As time moves forward, you either adapt or get left behind. HolyGrail and I are still "rookie" SF users since we have been using it less than a year. There is still a lot to learn. To attempt to discredit Holygrail and I serves no productive purpose. Many have profitted from our posts. If you have not, that's just the way it goes. Things change. I found a "bug". StockFetcher corrected it and SOME of our filters no longer produced the same results. But the basic LR and RSI filters still work and pick stocks that return profits of 5% or more in less than a week. I really don't know what some people are looking for when it comes to filters. I run the filters everyday, download the results and create Yahoo! portfolios. At the end of the day, I see many profitable stocks for the buy and hold a day or so crowd. I also see many scalp opportunies for the stocks between the OPEN & HIGH and LOW & CLOSE. Rarely is there NOT an opportunity to make money on one of the stocks. Even on "Wal-Mart" pricing days like yesterday and today, there were winners from the RSI(2) and Linear Regression lists. By that I mean, you could scalp from the bottom and rake in some profit. Txtrapper, you would have to think that if something "flat out did not work" that sooner or later one would change. HG found that the SF fix "ruined" some of our filters so those filters are no longer used. We created new ones. But this ongoing debate is actually mute. HG and I know our filters give us stocks to TRADE that make us money. CAN YOU SPELL N E O M, T T X I or M R X T? And, that Txtrapper is the point. I wish you success with your filters and trades. MAY ALL YOUR FILLS BE COMPLETE. |

9/25/2003 8:42:37 PM I disagree! I'm sure Stockfetcher members will decide for themselves on this issue. tx |
