Some of you may know that a one line filter in SF with the sole text "sp500" returns all of the stocks in the S&P500 when you run it:
If you run it today do you believe it is?
a. 100% accurate
b. 99% accurate
c. 98% accurate
d. 95% accurate
e. I don't care way too many stocks to count
Thanks,
Ed S.

Ed,
FLT, BR, HFC, TWTR, and EVRG were added this month, so I'll say c. 98%

Can't get anything by you two!
C. 98% is correct.
Currently there are 505 stocks listed for the S&P 500. SF is missing 7 of them, which is one reason its total is 498. and SF has at least 3 that aren't S&P 500 members any more, the other part of the 498 story.
a total swing of 10 stocks. If only a data provider could get paid in advance and have some early warning of imminent stock index changes.......
One of the 7 missing stocks in SF's S&P500 is ALLE which appears to have been added to the S&P500 in the very recent year 2013.
Thanks,
Ed S.

Interesting, I ran that same filter before my last post and it was still 498.
Data provider appears to be getting closer.
Thanks,

As of yesterday SF was returning 503 stocks for the S&P 500 in any of the filter methods to get that grouping.
Unfortunately, the 503 stocks shown in the results include AYI, NAVI, and RRC which are no longer members and exclude ABMD, ALLE, DXC, FLT, and JEF which are current members.
The current total of stocks belonging to the current S&P 500 should be 505.
