I don't know if that is true that scans always beat screens. I use a screen that picked up ADRI on 10/22 before it made a move at around $4.09.

All,

I've been working squeeze filters for sometime now and have tried numerous (read many, many, many). I'm currently down to 4 which I'll post here. You can change; close range, volume % increase, day change % increase, etc. for increasing / decreasing the number of hits. Together, these replicate closely smallcapcenter scans (although as muddy indicates, smallcapcenter.com scans are very powerful - I'm adding hits from smallcapcenter to a watchlist and then filtering for pullback (see below)). I've found the key to filtering for these breakouts (Dick, I assume you mean ZICA on 9/20-21) to be 13(ema) xover on increased volume and usually a touch of the UBB. If they continue to break (walk the ubb) then entering on pullback to UBB is good. If they do not continue to break (or they run out of gas) then watch for pullback to and support at ema(13) or sma(20) on much decreased volume. Also, a great pullback signal is very low (near zero) fast stochastic(5,3) %K or near zero rsi(2) - (doesn't happen too often, but what I've seen is pretty strong - eg SWYC on Wednesday - TBD on whether or not it bounces). So here they are - enjoy - improvements/comments welcome!!!

Fetcher[volume 300% above average volume(90) and average volume(90) above 50000 and close between 0.45 and 8 and count(close below ema(13),3) equal 1 and close above ema(13) and day change above 0 and volume above volume 1 day ago]

Fetcher[day change above 20% and close between 0.45 and 8 and close above ema(13) and average volume(90) above 50000]

Fetcher[bollinger width(20) 1 day ago less than bollinger width(20) 2 days ago and bollinger width(20) greater than bollinger width(20) 1 day ago and count(high above upper bollinger band(20),2) above 0.1 and slope of upper bollinger band(20) 1 day ago below 0 and slope of lower bollinger band(20) 1 day ago above 0 and close between 0.45 and 8 and volume above 100000 and average volume(90) above 100000 and volume above volume 1 day ago]

Zub,ok scan doesn't beat filter in ALL cases , nothing is 100%,but to quibble over your entry of 4.09 or mine of 4.40 is silly, mine still gave 43% in 2 days and i can pick up a bunch of nice ones every week with the scan, maybe you can with your screen ,maybe you can't,but surely you can't agrue with GOAM,as the earlier post said it picked it up at $3,even if you don't believe this i said it picked it up again at 6.63 and was over 7 AT THAT TIME,no faking here ,it hit a high of 14.50 yesterday ! ... anyone interested, in my Stockfetcher group, www.groups.yahoo.com/group/stockfetcher , ARDI was the top watch for the 29th,read msg # 6010, out of the 28 watches 17 hit 10% profits, some nice ones,IO 29%,SNWL 20%,ADSX 36%,NMGC 42%,PARS 41%,TGLO 30%,MOBE 34%,NNPP 23%,MONE 16%,SWKS 14%,ANSR 14%,IPAS 13%, and both EMRG and IIJI went OVER 100% since that time !! ,so Zub i know all about screens, just trying to help out some folks that might be interested in some intraday profits with the scan

wallman, no need at all to get defensive. Just pointing out that screens are not necessarily inferior and that they are consistently capable of finding the big movers even before they move. Thats all. I'm not trying to take anything away from you, you do fine work.
BTW, are those scans in real time? TIA

Zub,sorry if the post sounded defensive,it wasn't intended that way .... the scans are on a 15 min delay and can be refreshed min by min throughout the day, there's a lot of neat stuff on there besides the scans, you can search mutual funds, company press releases etc. and also there's a feature called "company showcase" that showcases different stocks each day from about 15 of the leading industries, also there are dozens of parameters you can set up for almost any scan you would want

--------------------------

Muddy you are right on VDSI and GIGM up (big time), one thing is for sure, the SC scan is much more current then EOD filters.

Actually, I have not used any of my filters for a while now, (don't need to) all anyone has to do is add Muddy Fav's in ProphetNet and look for them stocks on the SC scan each day. Works for me.

However, I value the SF site and plan to continue my membership from now on.
