I think we should pick stocks at higher prices because low price stocks are really very volatile. Why not make different challenge based on volatility or price? If someone buys a $1 stock a $0.05 rise is 5%, 5% gain in 1 day sounds like gambling? I am not sure but it takes 1 year to earn 5% based on treasury interest rates and you get them in 1 day? That compunds to 1800%/year, even Warren Buffet, George Soros, John Templeton, Peter Lynch, Paul Tudor Jones, James b. Rogers, Mario Gabelli, John W. Henry, Bill Dunn, Richard Dennis, Ed Seykota, Mark D. Cook will kudos to you and beg you to accept them as apprentice. And you can reply," Welcome to the Jedi family; may the force be with you." You guys are Master Jedis of Wall Street. The one who wins this challenge and be named Master Yoda.

eatmoreplant ... check your math - you may be thinking simple interest, but a 5% daily gain compounded yields a 323011% annual gain (260 trading day assumpton).
