6/29/2007 2:48:48 PM Mary, nice call on RIMM. In looking at intraday charts on the 27th and 28th there really wasn't much of a volume clue IMHO. No real noticeable spikes on declines. However, during the day on 6/28 somebody was loading up on the 165, 175 and 180 calls. I determined this by looking at the front month open interest configuration chart on Shaefferresearch.com. QUESTION: Could this have been detected by using the unusual option activity screen on the same website? Regards Max |

6/29/2007 6:48:45 PM what you want to see 1-5 days before earning 1. stock near it 5 day low last 1 to 2 days with a big increase in intraday volume near the bottom- theis one fact will give you an 80% chance that the stock will have good earnings 2. you want a sudden drop in the put/call ratio and its perecentile ranking going down good also you saw this the last week on rimm especially the last day- Date Put/Call OI Ratio One Year Percentile Rank 6/29/2007 0.91 40.40 % 6/28/2007 1.02 65.60 % 6/27/2007 1.06 72.00 % 6/26/2007 1.09 78.00 % 6/25/2007 1.11 81.60 % 6/22/2007 1.10 80.80 % 6/21/2007 1.13 83.60 % 6/20/2007 1.13 84.40 % 6/19/2007 1.16 86.40 % 6/18/2007 1.13 84.80 % the ratio went from 1.27-1.02 and the percentile went from 99% to 66%- you can find this filter under the the sentiment filter under the power tools- its the soir -the first one under the sentament screens- you want to look at a 3 month time frame - then you can to the custom screen so you catch the top of the blue line starting it big move down- this is why the qqqq is so bullish now it gone from 99%-30% the last 7 trding days- you will see the above senario on 90% of the big optionable stock before they make their big move up- look at mgm cypb mkc smsc aqnt amzn rimm- all have identical ratio patterns and 5 day intraday patterns |

Moreover, until very recently, you were saying here and elsewhere that QQQQ would blow over the roof. If so, why the hell are you selling naked calls with the disclaimer at the bottom "Shorted Stock Portfolio"? Man, you have some serious issues. |
