1/22/2010 5:58:47 PM bottom of weekly and daily rsi -2 but weekly higher this time versus the <5% on the july 10 and march 6 lows- because since the price is higher the weekly rsi-2 will be higher until this bull market ends aND WE ARE NO WHERE CLOSE TO THAT-it will be another 2-3 years before that happens-- they like to panic people when they drop it under the 50 ma like they did on 7-10-09 and 10-28-09-- notice it about the same 3 month time frame between these drops under the 50 ma--how do we know today was the dead bottom by reading the 15 min--30 min -60 min 120 min -240 min and 1 day rsi-2 on the vix and at today close they were all 99.6-100% on the rsi-2 just like they were both times in july and oct when the indexes went under the 50 ma-they did this really FAST TO PANIC PEOPLE AND TAKE OUT the sheep--thats why im in the qqqq option at 44.20- stec at 15.06-- spy near 109 dia near 102.5--and all the othe faSt moving stocks like lvs x mgm mtw mtl stec fuqi- the reaSON MOST OF THESE STOCK MOVE SO FAST ia because they have such a big short interest--here are most of the big movers who have >10% short interest-- if you payed attention you will see the spy retraced about the same % as it did on the oct low under the 50 ma--- 110-103.5 and 115.2-109 this week------------all these stock are >500000 shares average for 30 days----highest ones at the top going down-- the first number is the number of days to cover based on its average volume---- the 2nd number after the symbol is the short %--- like amed 56.4% short Symbol Days To Cover Short % of Float % from 52wk HIGH % from 200 DAY MA % from 50 DAY MA % from 52wk LOW Price % Change (52wk) Avg Daily Volume Squeeze Ranking™ AMED 12.5 56.4 -9.1 25.1 15.9 55.5 32.0 1,233,400 225 SYNA 25.4 55.5 -53.3 -3.1 1/23/2010 2:43:10 PM Thanks for your analysis, M4M. However, I can't help being suspicious of those THREE CONSECUTIVE SEVERE DROPS in the market. Or as the saying goes, ... "does the market know something we don't?" |

1/23/2010 6:07:14 PM I love it when Mary predicts a bottom when all of my indicators indicate this may not be a "normal" correction. Much more often than not any rallies that may ensue after an OS RSI reading is usually met by swift selling. Nearly every time this has happened in the past I have made $$ buying puts. Thanks Mary. |

1/24/2010 4:20:22 PM 1/22/2010 4:24:03 PM We still have at least 2%-4% left to go. karennma 1/22/2010 4:51:56 PM Straken: And you're basing that on what? :>) "Three strikes this week in an overbought market" >Limiting the investment size of banks >China curbing bank loans and economic growth >Underemployment rate now at 17% The latest doom and gloom speech was intended to pull back the markets so the political machine can push another stimulus package that they will claim is desperately needed to continue growth. Truth is, there is no growth. Markets will correct themselves given time but that is something the democrates are running out of. They need to dampen things so they can save the world again to improve their ratings. I measured the markets at about 10.4% overbought for mean fair value as of last week, which is why I said we have 2 to 4 more percent to go. You had very minor corrections for the last three months and 8% would be healthy. I do believe you will have a dead cat bounce the first of the week as china will iron out some of their concerns but I see the euro falling apart soon. I strongly believe will retest the 150 day MA before the month is out. DJI and SPY have been culling for the past 50 days and a stong correction was imminent. I would watch carefully for false breakouts until we have a low volume consolidation period to confirm selling pressure as subsided. Current P/C ratio for SPY is 1.15 the yearly average has been .08 with the last high 1.17 on Oct 30. I believe I will wait for that ratio to near 1.0 before I put any large amounts on calls. This year will not be easy money like 2009. But a confirmation of Berne could put things back to throttles up. If that muslim president we have would ease up on crushing small businesses you'll be able to throw money into anything. |
