Hello Fina,

This kind of filter didn't work well with above ma 200 criteria,
Because I am looking for fallings stocks.
You can choose from here 2 different filetrs 2% or 3/7 days.
If would you like to add above ma 200 criteria just add to code "show stocks above MA(200)"

for 2% profit buy at close next day with sell limit order 2% above entry price , holding 3 days Max and sell at open.

Fetcher[
stocks are not OTCBB
Stocks are not etf
Bollinger Width Oscillator(5,2) below -50 in last day
Day Position(0.05,1) below day position 3 days ago
do not draw day position (-1.00,5)
do not draw day position
average Volume(90) above 650000
close > 1.20
and draw apo(5,2) > 0.085
and draw cmf(5) below 0 within last 3
and mass index(12) < 26.5
rsi(2) crossed below 1 within last 5 days
]

For 3/7 days hold used buy at open next day , holding 3/7 Max days hold and sell at open or RSI(2) > 55 :

Fetcher[
Stocks are not OTCBB
Stocks are not ETF
Bollinger Width Oscillator(5,2) below -50 in last day
Lower Acceleration Band(5) dropped more than 3.5 Percent
Lower Keltner Band(5)dropped more then 3 percent
Day Position(0.5,1) below day position 2 days ago
do not draw day position (-1.00,5)
do not draw day position
average Volume(4) > 120000
close > 1.20
StochRSI(4,2) < 0.20 within last 5 days
add column IMI(4)
set{liquidity1,average volume(30) * open}
set{liquidity2,average volume(15) * open}
set{liquidity3,average volume(7) * open}
liquidity1 > 100000
liquidity2 > 100000
liquidity3 > 100000
]

Hi Fina,

I trade only with this strategy in live Holding Max 3 days.
You can have all the information how to do this on page 9.

Good luck,
Levamit

Has anybody had any luck importing this filter to StrataSearch? I'm having some difficulty with some of the functions which need to be programmed into StrataSearch.

Seems like a good filter but I can't seem to find the post where the explanation is given of how you choose the stocks to trade from the filter results, especially for the 3/7 filter.

After re-reading again, I found the answer to my question...volume descending. Seems like an arbitrary way to pick your stocks but it does sort of guarentee liquidity. Lately, only a couple stocks have been returned from the filter anyhow. Wouldn't make much difference if traded as described.

Awesome filter. Uncanny the way it spots bottoms! I did notice something that might spark some debate.

I was interested in buying the stocks at the open the next day after the filter returned stocks. I noticed that if the open price was lower than the previous day's close then it was going to continue its downtrend. I only tested manually for about a month, so not the most solid backtest. I was interested in hearing some thoughts?

i have been backtesting this in various ways.... so far i have found buying at the open with no stop loss but with a trigger of rsi (2) > 80 has been the most effective with a max hold of 10 days. goes against the filter parameters but i have done numerous tests from 3-10 days and so far hanging onto it for those extra days helps. you also have to take into account the type of market we are in (read uptrend). I tested this during the drop in 09 and it wasnt pretty without a stop loss so understanding the market you are trading is key.

i am still messing with it, if you are more conservative and cant handle not having a stop loss then you can also try "buy below low yesterday". Big thing is when you backtest make sure you check the box under where you write that or its going to automatically buy at the open and your results are very very skewed. I have tested buy below close and low yesterday and honestly so far buying at the open and gutting it out has been the best with parameters stated above. but it you cant handle that drawdown then you will want an entry below yesterdays low/close.

I am still trying to figure out a good "stop" indicator, however these stocks are so voliatile that if you use any kind of stop you are going to give up profits the next day. They will go down another 20% and then jump 50 the next day.

The research continues
