On SF charts white(hollow) candle = stock close above open

red(filled) candle = stock close lower than open

What does a black candle mean?

Also, some threads say "wait for the green". Does this mean wait for a green candle (high of the day) before entering a trade? Thank you for answering these questions.

Red hollow candle: close above open but close below yesterday's close
