I've been on SF for about three months now and have spent a few hundred hours trying to find the perfect filter - especially for short-term gains. I have some decent ones for those, but the best one I've found so far is for three month gains:
show stocks where ema(10) crossed above sma(20) within last 5 days
and the MACD Histogram(12,26) has been increasing for 5 days
and where close is more than 70% below close 300 days ago
and where volume has been increasing for 2 days
and not etn
and not etf
and not otc
I'm big into 10EMA/20SMA crossover and bullish MACD, of course, as well as finding stocks at the bottom (this is hugely important in my view). Any thoughts on how to improve this filter are most welcome - ESPECIALLY for shorter term gains....which I'm still working on.
