...always with the condescending BS !
The guy asked an honest question...to TRO...not you !
And you have to interject yourself into the conversation with a cheap shot and a put down !
Will you ever grow up ?
Don't answer...who cares !
Regards,

I'm not sure I follow, TRO. What is run up? Could you give me an example?
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
AAPL on Friday:
Open: 74.76
Day's Range: 73.29 - 74.98
Last Trade: 74.10
Let's say you entered a LONG trade at the open and did not exit.
The RUN UP would be 74.98 - 74.76 or $.22
The DRAW DOWN would be 74.76 - 73.29 or $1.47
So in this case, RUN UP would be the potential profit you could have had.
In my case, I would have taken 1000 shares of AAPL for a quick dime ($100 bill folding money). You can do this all day, every day with AAPL.
Once again, when I run a backtest, RUN UP is what is important to me - was there a potential profit.
Riggs - be nice! I didn't give up, I just had not got around to answering.

SF is a learning experience for everyone here the last time I checked. Nobody here was born a 'guru' in trading.

But Ralph44....
Isn't that what YOU do best? What's good for the "Dork" is good for the "genius" I always say....
Besides.....clearly TRO had given up on this one a couple of days had past you moron, so if you look at it as "interjecting a conversation", then maybe you should screw your bolts a little tighter idiot!(Punch! :8^X) I'm just saying what TRO WANTED to say, but he'd never admit to it! lol

You be humble! I like myself just the way I am. "Humble" is passive! There isn't a passive bone in my body! That's why I'm the trader I am today, and why I have the greatest job in the world. BTW, I got this job BECAUSE of who I am here at SF. If you were around back then, you'd remember. This is a stock market website friend, not an online dating service! You don't like it? Don't post and take a hike! Geez.....

I am not taking a hike because I am simply here to learn and test others' filters in stock trading. You need to learn how to deal with people as you are able to deal with stocks.
Have a nice day
