Ok, so no help with finding a cup and handle pattern effectively so am trying to fine tune one.
how is this for a start? Any feedback and changes are welcome.
show stocks where pattern is cup and handle
set{channeltop,high 30 day high}
set{channelbottom,low 30 day low}
set{tchg, channeltop minus channeltop 30 days ago }
set{bchg, channelbottom minus channelbottom 30 days ago}
set{atchg, abs(tchg)}
set{abchg, abs(bchg)}
set{channeltopchange, atchg / channeltop}
set{channelbottomchange, atchg / channeltop}
show stocks where close above 5 and 10 percent above (ma)10
and draw channeltop on plot price
and draw channelbottom on plot price
and channeltop > 5 percent above channelbottom
and channeltopchange < 0.005
and channelbottomchange < 0.005
and ma(5) decreasing for the last 5 days

Nice filter! Is line 10 supposed to read:
show stocks where close BETWEEN 5 and 10 percent above (ma)10?
Either way works, just trying to figure out what you had in mind for that line.

Yes, I did search. Some of them I did see, and others I did not while I searched.
Problem is I have not found one that adheres to the strictest of IBD rules and was wondering if it is possible.
I asked the support and they gave a suggestion or two, but that was it otherwise.
Any other feedback welcome

Welcome to SF. Looks like you have a very specific set of objectives here in developing your cup and handle filter. One of the best filter writers on SF is Chetron - just look at his output and contributions here.
What Chetron did was to point out that there have been at least 4 other threads on this topic already. You could have cone the same quick search, indicated that you had seen these but they were not what you needed, and the opened up the floor for debate.
I would suggest that you reconsider your current approach. Chet may be a little fiesty on the subject of questions being asked over and over again by newcomers rather than having had a simple search done ahead of your post, but he is a great resource for what you are asking. I have learned a lot from his postings, and know that you could too.
