why would you want to do that ?
Use the 60/40 levels on RSI !
They're better than any Bollinger Band !
Just learn HOW to read RSI !

Mike is probably interested as it relates to the November 2005 issue of Active Trader Magazine (http://www.activetradermag.com/toc.htm). An article by Jose Cruset of Wealth-Lab on page 40 titled "Adaptive RSI System". The article shows that by using dynamic thresholds (Bollinger Bands) around the RSI, rather than fixed ones, one can achieve much better success. Backtesting results are included in the article.
I too am interested and have not been able to get SF to do it. I've placed Bollinger bands around the RSI within my trading system but it does not scale properly.
The article uses RSI(14) with Bollinger(100,2)
When the RSI crosses the LBB it is a buy signal. RSI crossing UBB is sell signal.
Any ideas on how to accomplish this from anyone?
Thanks.

You are exactly right. I read that article and am interested in exploring that further. It backtests well and seems an approach worth following up on.

There're a couple things you can use in Fetcher, eg, moving averages. But I don't think the standard deviation is there. I tried to calculate this before but get stuck under the limitation of variable nesting. Good luck.

Standard Deviation is available, although possibly not in the format you need it.

Sorry, yepher. I guess I wasn't clear. I'm actually thinking about a custom standard deviation you can apply to something else other than close.

stocktrader, this might be helpful to u, for going long
[Show stocks where RSI(14) crossed above lower Bollinger band(100,2)
And RSI(14) 1 day ago had been below lower Bollinger Band(100,2) for the last 7 days and price above 1 and average volume(90) above 200,000]

The bollinger band in your filter is the bollinger band of the price, not the RSI. Thank you for trying though. I don't think this can be done in SF. Can someone on the SF team verify this please?
